I have contributed my knowledge and experiences in Lean, Six Sigma and DFSS (Design for Six Sigma) for improving productivity and increasing revenue and profit in various businesses for many years.
The basic flow of the improvements is like below:
- Solve the current issues in process performance and/or product quality using Six Sigma
- Then, continuously improve productivity in the processes using Lean
- Using surplus time and resources after the productivity improvements, develop new services and/or new products using DFSS for improving customer satisfaction and increasing market share
If comparing to the baseball, the problem-solving with the frameworks (i.e., Lean, Six Sigma and DFSS) looks like a strategic game which gets more scores by many infield hits with solid defense. It never looks like a game which is all or nothing depending on a home-run hitter.
Executing the problem-solving frameworks faster than other companies is a key to survive the global competitive market. To win the competition, I developed the training programs for organizations, and engaged in many projects.
